The Brazilian Adventure: Week 65 August 25 -- August 31
My Dearest beloved Family and Friends:
I can´t believe that another transfer has ended. Time is flying. So transfer calls came in this week. My companion Elder G. Fernandes has been transfered. And I will be staying. It is going to be sad wathching him leave. Normally on the mission when we get calls for transfers, we get calls from the missionaries from the secretary. When we get called to be a leader, we get called to by the assisstants to the presidents. Well last night, I got a call from President Dalton. He told me something like this "Elder Jones, do remember when I said that I would fallow the counsil of the apostles and the presidency of the church and call my best missionaries to train new missinaries" with shock and confussion knowing what would come next I answered "Yes president, I remember" Then he said "Well I have called 6 missionaries and released some missionaries from being Zone leaders and District Leaders so that they can train well and you are one of them, will you accept that call?" again I was shocked, but I responded "Yes president, I will, if that is what the Lord wants, then yes I will be honored to train." He then thanked me. And started to tell me about how he has heared from the assisstants and other missionaries about my obedience. They say that I am the most obedient missionary in the mission. President Dalton said that he wants this new missionary to be exactly like me. I was surprise about that also. So I will be ending with 8 months of being a district leader, it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. I´m honored to be able to train again. I love to train! This is going to be my 4th son! by the way, this week I went to a meeting in another ward in the mission because some one in my district had to go and when I was there, I saw my nephew and my son Elder Cifuentes. It was awesome.
Yesturday we did a great training with the Relief society. It was awesome. We also gave a training to members of how to do missionary work. This week in our ward the missionaries baptised a great family. Yesturday the Bishop asked me to give a talk at the end of sacrament meeting and I just bared my tetimony and gave my story. Every said that they loved it and everyone was crying. I don´t know how it happens but I´m happy the spirit helps me out. The Bishop and ward are really starting to like us a whole lot. I´m excited for this next transfer.
This week I did a baptism interview for a family of 4 in my district and it was so awesome. One of the daughters chose me to baptise her and it was supper sweet. The dad is so sweet. He has such great energy. He said that he wants to go back to a little small town where he is from and create a branch there to help his family.
I love this mission. I hope you are all doing good.
Be happy
Love The Elder Jones
